Torrance County Emergency Management 

The Office of Emergency Management helps elected and senior government officials, first response agencies, and the general public prepare for, mitigate against, respond to, and recover from large scale incidents and disasters through the restoration of community lifelines. The office serves as a liaison between the state and local government.

The Office of Emergency Management is responsible for maintaining the Hazard Mitigation Plan, Community Wildfire Protection Plan, Emergency Operations Plan, as well as other preparedness plans.

Emergency Resource Partners of Torrance County

Torrance County Emergency Management is currently accepting applications for volunteers through our Civilian Volunteer Association.  Volunteers will primarily be requested to assist in setting up shelters during inclement weather that closes main roads, leaving motorists stranded, or in the event of a fire requiring evacuation.  Volunteers also have the potential to be requested as support staff during search and rescue or any other events requiring assistance from the Office of Emergency Management.
