NMSA 1978, Section 1-4-24 (A)(3) provides that an automatic recount of the votes for the 2023 Regular Local Election is required when the canvass of returns for an election in certain offices indicates that a margin between two candidates receiving the greatest number of votes for the office is one percent of the total votes cast for that election or five or fewer votes.  Such is the case in Torrance County and a recount is scheduled for Monday, December 4, 2023, at 9:00AM in the Torrance County Commission Room.  Public is invited to attend.
